Z-Shield-Flex is a highly flexible EMI shielding sleeve. It is made of two layers of twisted meta-aramid (Nomex) threads around which tinned copper foil strips are spirally wrapped and then braided together to form the expandable tubular sleeve. Z-Shield-Flex is extremely flexible yet thin, with a material thickness of only 0.025 inches. Because it can expand or contract significantly, it is ideal for Z-Shield-Flex for applications that vary in size. The expandable sleeve has a wide temperature range of -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F) and is RoHS compliant, fluid resistant and UL certified for flammability, meeting UL1441 and VW-1 specifications. Z-Shield-Flex can be equipped with a woven braided wire for grounding purposes.
Z-Shield-Flex is currently used for a wide variety of aerospace applications. Due to its lightweight and non-metallic core material, Z-Shield-Flex is the "Aerospace Ace" providing EMI shielding and a durable barrier between components and environmental conditions. Z-Shield-Flex is available in sizes from 0.125" to 1.5" diameter, with custom sizes available upon request.
